Questions and answers

Getting started

What is Multiverbo?

A language course for beginners in German, French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese, taught from English. Each language is laid out as 30 lessons, from your first words towards A2, and each lesson teaches its words through two games, a grammar sheet and a story in three parts.

Recall then brings every word back on a schedule built on how memory works, so the words you learn stay with you.

How it works

I have never learned a language before. Is it for me?

Yes. Every course starts from nothing: French lesson 1 begins with bonjour, merci and oui.

The grammar comes on a sheet in plain English before you are asked to use it, and Recall never puts a clock on you.

Do I need to download an app?

No. Multiverbo runs in the web browser on your phone, tablet or computer. If you like, you can install it from the browser, and it then opens like any other app.

It works offline too: once Multiverbo has loaded, a dropped connection does not stop your lesson, and the progress you make is sent when you are back online.

The method

How is Multiverbo different from other language apps?

Three things. In Recall you type every answer instead of tapping a choice, so it checks what you can produce as well as what you recognise. Words come back on a fixed ladder of growing gaps, and you cannot review early. And there are no streaks: you set a weekly rhythm of your own, or none.

What is Recall?

Recall is where you review. Every word you learn goes onto a ladder of seven steps, from today to five months, and you type an answer each time it comes round. Recall is forgiving about accents, small typos and articles.

Answer a word correctly when it is due and it moves up a step, so you see it less often. Get it wrong and it drops to the one-day step, so it comes round again tomorrow.

Do I have to study every day?

No, and there are no streaks. If it helps, choose a rhythm of study days: off, or one to five days a week. Each week that meets it earns a ✦ that is never taken back.

A week away costs you nothing. The words that came due wait in Recall until you are back.

Is there AI in Multiverbo?

No AI in the app. Your typed answers are checked against each card by fixed rules, so the same answer always gets the same verdict, and nothing you type is handed to an AI model.

My cards

Can I add my own words?

Yes, in My cards: type them in, paste a list, or import a CSV file (commas, semicolons or tabs). They come back in Recall with everything else, and you can play them in any of the four games.

Up to 200 decks, 2,000 cards in a deck and 20,000 cards in all.

Premium & payments

How much will Premium cost?

Premium will cost €5.99 a month, €14.99 for three months or €49.99 a year, VAT included, when it opens.

Premium Family, for up to six people, will cost €59.99 for six months or €89.99 a year.

Can I share Premium with my family?

Yes, with Premium Family. One person pays and invites up to five others by email: family or friends, anyone aged 13 or over. Each of them learns on their own account, and nobody sees anyone else’s progress or cards.

Someone who leaves, or is removed, goes back to the free plan with everything they made.

What if I change my mind after buying Premium?

Ask within 14 days of first subscribing, or of subscribing again after Premium had ended, and you get a full refund, no questions asked.

How the refund works

Will I lose my reviews if I stop paying?

No. Review is never behind a paywall. Every word you have learned stays in Recall, Premium or not. If Premium ends, the words from lessons 6–30 keep coming back on schedule too.

Privacy & account

What do you do with my data?

Only what the service needs to work: your account, your progress and review schedule, your study days and your own cards. Of each answer we keep only the result, right or wrong, and nothing you type reaches our logs.

We never sell data, and the app carries no ads, analytics or trackers.

Settings lets you export your cards and your whole study record as one JSON file, or delete your account for good.

Privacy Policy

Does Multiverbo use cookies?

This website sets no cookies of its own. It remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme in your browser’s own storage, and nothing else.

It makes no third-party requests: every font, script and image loads from the site’s own address, and nothing is fetched from anywhere else.

The app uses one sign-in cookie. It ends when you close your browser, or after 30 days without a visit if you tick Remember me on this device.

Schools & teachers

Can I use Multiverbo with a class?

Yes: each learner uses their own free account, in class and for review at their own pace at home.

We are still working out what schools need beyond that. If you teach, tell us what would help.

Talk to us

How old do learners need to be?

Accounts are for learners aged 13 and over. Under-18s need a parent’s permission to buy Premium, and a parent can ask for a refund of a purchase they did not allow.

Accessibility

Can I use Multiverbo with a keyboard or a screen reader?

Yes. It is built to be, and it is checked with automated accessibility tests as it changes. It has a dark theme, colours chosen to stay readable in both themes, and a switch for sound.

Set your device to reduce motion and Multiverbo follows it: the website and the app drop their animations, and in Word Rain the words step down instead of gliding.
